The Wikimedia Foundation released the list of the top 20 most-read English Wikipedia articles for 2025 on December 2, drawing from page view data collected between January 1 and November 10.

1. The article on United States political activist Charlie Kirk ranked first with 44,907,789 page views, following his assassination in September during a university campus debate he organized.
2. The Deaths in 2025 article placed second with 42,508,846 page views, a page updated by volunteer editors with obituaries of notable individuals throughout the year.
3. Serial killer Ed Gein came in third with 31,232,285 page views, boosted by the October release of a Netflix series season focused on him. 
4. United States President Donald Trump ranked fourth with 25,127,616 page views after beginning his second term in January.
5. Pope Leo XIV, selected as successor to Pope Francis in April, took fifth place with 22,052,502 page views.
6. Elon Musk, a former senior advisor in the United States administration, ranked sixth with 20,179,628 page views.
7. Zohran Mamdani, who holds a prominent role in the United States administration, placed seventh with 20,118,615 page views.
8. The 2025 film Sinners ranked eighth with 18,230,654 page views after its success at the box office. 
9. Rock singer Ozzy Osbourne, who died in July, came in ninth with 17,787,997 page views.
10. The 2025 film Superman ranked tenth with 17,007,716 page views.
11. Pope Francis, who served for 12 years before his April death, placed eleventh with 15,281,541 page views.
12. The television series Severance ranked twelfth with 13,892,847 page views, driven by its second season release.
13. The United States article took thirteenth place with 13,040,217 page views. 
14. The 2025 film Thunderbolts* ranked fourteenth with 12,864,839 page views.
15. The 2025 film Weapons placed fifteenth with 11,753,018 page views after its box office performance.
16. United States Vice President JD Vance ranked sixteenth with 11,617,451 page views.
17. The television series Adolescence came in seventeenth with 11,571,799 page views, noted for episodes shot in single continuous takes. 
18. Internet personality MrBeast ranked eighteenth with 11,475,681 page views, entering the list after expressing interest in buying TikTok in January.
19. The most famous soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo placed nineteenth with 10,827,510 page views.
20. The 2025 film The Fantastic Four: First Steps ranked twentieth with 10,768,070 page views. 

This list shows what people have been mostly reading on Wikipedia for the whole year in 2025.

And according to the Wikimedia Foundation that runs Wikipedia, more than 40% of the views on the most-read articles were from outside the United States.
